Steve's New CD: Revolution of Love
Did you know that Steven writes poetry?
For many guys it may be hard to admit that they like to write poetry. There is a fear of being too "in touch" with their feelings. For Steven, poetry is more of a matter of neccessity. There have been many times in Steven's life that have been difficult to endure. In those moments, poetry becomes a way to express what's happening inside. Click 'more' to read some of his poems.

It will focus on unity, leadership, and many other things. I'll let you know as soon as it's ready! I have several new blogs already in draft form on the new site, but I want to get several published before I make it public.

See you soon!

Top Three Reasons to Memorize Scripture
Sometimes I ask myself that great theological question that has plagued mankind for years, “What’s wrong with Christians these days?” I don’t know about you, but it really seems as though we’re in a bad state of affairs when it comes to being representatives for the kingdom of God. I think we aren’t alone in this question. Perhaps Paul wondered this out loud as he was writing the church in Corinth. No doubt this question was going through Martin Luther’s thoughts when he penned his 95 theses that sparked Read More...

Upcoming Concert and 2 Corinthians 4
So I just finished going through a few songs for tomorrow and I've been thinking about what God has been speaking to me lately. I have been blown away once again at the depth of what I hold in my hands. Have you ever really thought about the Bible? I know we have our little devotional booklets, study guide Bibles, and heaven only knows how many different translations and special edition versions of His word. I think sometimes it's easy to lose site of the depth of God's word because we are constantly wading through the wide extent of how man tries to present it.

I encourage you to read 2 Corinthians chapter 4. Then stop and study about the city of Corinth and why Paul wrote this letter to the church. Keep re-reading this passage and consider the depth of the thought "16Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
Amen...

We're going to spend a few minutes with this passage tomorrow night at the CD release concert here in San Antonio. I hope you are able to attend!

Patriotism and the slavery of America
It's interesting how patriotism can change it's meaning. Well..I guess patriotism will alway be patriotism. But what does it really look like? Officially I guess we could use webster's definition:
Main Entry: pa·tri·ot·ism
Function: noun
Date: circa 1726
--love for or devotion to one's country--

However, lately I think patriotism has been redefined to say, "Love for or devotion to the ideals and beliefs of one's country". Is it really all that different? I think so. It goes much deeper, even to our ability to discern what truly is right and wrong within the context of love. Generally if you Read More...
